-1.15 (-0.75%) GAIL (India) has received authorization from Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) for capacity expansion of Jamnagar-Loni Petroleum Product (LPG) Pipeline (JLPL) from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA. As per authorization, the project is to completed within three years from date of grant of authorization.
The company currently operates the longest LPG pipeline of India with a capacity of 3.25 MMTPA. The pipeline is currently operating at 100% capacity. In the last decade the cumulative growth of LPG was around 6%. Similar type of growth is expected to be continued in the future, leading to higher pipeline capacity utilization. Therefore, expansion of the pipeline will result into business growth of the company.
