Titan Company surges on foraying into perfume market under brand ‘Skinn’

Titan Industries is currently trading at Rs 224.55, up by 0.55 points or 0.25% from its previous closing of Rs 224.00 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 222.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 226.90 and Rs 222.00 respectively. So far 40629 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 313.60 on 30-Nov-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 200.00 on 13-Jun-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 247.35 and Rs 219.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 19886.41 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 53.05% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 22.94% and 24.01% respectively.

Titan Company (formerly Titan Industries) has marked its foray into Rs 2,000-crore Indian fragrances market with launch of six fragrances three each for men and women under brand ‘Skinn’ priced at Rs 900 (50 ml) and Rs 1,790 (100 ml).

The country’s leading watch, jewellery and eyewear maker expects revenues of about Rs 250 crore from the new vertical in the next 3-5 years. The company has partnered with perfumers to develop the products, which will be bottled and imported from France. 

The company expects to increase its total revenues to Rs 12,000 crore this fiscal from over Rs 10,000 crore in 2012-13. About 75 percent of the revenue comes from the jewellery segment, while watches account for about 20 percent. The remaining comes from eyewear and precision engineering products business.
