NHPC has received approval from Board of Directors to raise funds through issue of Unsecured, Redeemable, Taxable, Non-Convertible, Non-Cumulative AG Series Bonds up to Rs 2,000 crore in one or more tranches through private placement, as part of the borrowing plan for FY 2025-26.

The Board of Directors in its meeting held on July 30, 2025 have considered and approved the perusal of Key Information Document (KID) for the same. 

NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy work.
