A minor fire broke out from one of the heat treatment furnaces at Maruti Suzuki India’s Manesar Powertrain plant on September 18, 2013. The fire was quickly extinguished and there was no injury to anyone due to this incident. Also, there was no loss of production and the work in the plant remains normal.

The company’s production for the month of August has increased by 62.63% to 91,261 units as compared to 56,115 units in August 2012. Of the total, production in the mini compact segment comprising Alto, A Star and Wagon R surged 50.33% to 41,487 units as against 27,597 units in the same month previous year.
