Panasonic India plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Haryana to set up a manufacturing unit for air conditioners, washing machines and welding and cutting machines.
It will be the first Panasonic “Eco-ideas” factory in India, which would be spread over an area of 76 acres. The company will make the total investment over a period of five years. The construction of manufacturing unit will commence in April, 2011 and would be completed by April, 2012. The mass production will start in August, 2012. The factory will house the facilities to manufacture about one million sets of air conditioners, 400,000 sets of washing machines and 25,000 sets of welding and cutting machines every year.
