NTPC‘s 500-MW unit -3 of the Simhadri thermal power expansion project will be commissioned by next month. It has outlined plans to take up two 4,000-MW projects in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka in the next Plan.

Power purchase agreements (PPAs) have been signed with the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka for the proposed 4,000-MW power project planned at Pudimadaka in Acyutapuram mandal in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. Another 4,000-MW project has been planned at Kudigi in Bijapur district of Karnataka.
