Axis Bank gains on reporting 21% rise in Q2 net profit

Axis Bank is currently trading at Rs 1097.80, up by 16.45 points or 1.52% from its previous closing of Rs. 1081.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 1083.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 1108.00 and Rs 1067.00 respectively. So far 329220 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 1549.00 on 20-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 764.00 on 04-Sep-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 1131.15 and Rs 1047.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 50837.34 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.94%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.26% and 13.25% respectively.

Axis Bank has reported a rise of 21.25% in its net profit at Rs 1362.31 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 1123.54 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank increased by 13.22% at Rs 9375.08 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 8280.29 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2012.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) have increased to 1.19% in the July-September quarter as against 1.10% in the same quarter previous year, while net NPAs too increased to 0.37%.
