TCS gains as Bombardier Transportation selects it as a strategic partner

Tata Consultancy Services is currently trading at Rs. 2099.60, up by 26.10 points or 1.26% from its previous closing of Rs. 2073.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2080.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2108.00 and Rs. 2080.00 respectively. So far 22,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2258.05 on 15-Oct-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1197.60 on 18-Dec-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2258.05 and Rs. 2052.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4,11,254 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 73.96% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 21.67% and 4.37% respectively.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation, has been selected by Bombardier Transportation, a global leader in rail transportation technology, to manage its IT infrastructure for newly commissioned data centres. The multi-year, multi-million deal is the first that TCS has signed with a rail transportation technology provider.

As part of the contract, TCS will provide remote infrastructure management (RIM) to Bombardier Transportation’s recently established data centres in Germany. The new data centres will establish a leading-edge technology platform for Bombardier, through introduction of private cloud services paired with a high level of virtualisation. TCS will also provide SAP basis support to Bombardier Transportation.
