-1.30 (-0.54%) Godawari Power and Ispat has secured approval for making additional investment of Rs 200 crore in its wholly owned subsidiary -- Godawari New Energy (GNEPL) by way of equity/loan or any other permissible mode from time to time in one or more tranches. The Board of Directors of the company in its meeting held on May 19, 2026 has approved the same.
The funds will be utilized by GNEPL to meet proposed capex and working capital requirements for setting up Battery Energy Storage System Plant. This approval is in addition to the existing investment approval of Rs 500 crore thus totalling the initial investment of the company in GNEPL to Rs 700 crore.
Godawari Power and Ispat is engaged in the production of sponge iron, steel billets, ferro alloys, HB wires, oxygen, fly ash bricks and is also in the power business.
