Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), country’s major automobile maker’s business conglomerate Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles was conferred the CII Design Excellence award in the 4-Wheeler Mobility Design Category for the Mahindra e2o.

As part of its ongoing pursuit to establish design as a tool for national competitiveness, CII initiated the ‘CII Design Excellence Awards’ in 2011. The India Design Council endorses the CII Design Excellence Awards and acts as the national strategic body for multi-disciplinary design. It is involved in promotion of design to ultimately make Indian industry a design enabled industry. The award seeks to demonstrate the value of design to the Indian industry and is a true acknowledgement of the prowess of Indian design, innovation and originality.

Mahindra Reva is a pioneer of electric vehicle (EV) technologies and one of the world’s most experienced EV manufacturers.  Founded in 1994 as the Reva Electric Car Company, the company was a joint venture between the Maini Group of Bangalore and AEV LLC of USA. In May 2010, the $16.2 billion, Mahindra Group acquired a majority stake in the company, which was renamed Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles.
