3.55 (0.38%) HDFC Bank organized 10 coin exchange melas across Patna on January 22, 2014 which is in line with RBI’s Clean Note Policy. The coin melas were planned by the bank’s Patna Currency Chest.
The purpose of the mela was to distribute coins to the general public as well as provide fresh currency notes in exchange for soiled and mutilated ones. The bank distributed coins worth Rs 4.40 lakh, issued fresh currency worth Rs 13.10 lakh and exchanged soiled notes worth Rs 6.90 lakh to over 712 people during the day
