HDFC Bank has launched two credit cards exclusively for women - Solitaire Premium and Solitaire. Solitaire Premium has a credit limit of Rs 5 lakh while the other card Solitaire has a credit limit of up to Rs 2 lakh. Further, a portion of all spend on the cards will go to SOS Children’s villages in the country, towards the annual education expenses of 60 girl children.

The bank has about six million credit card customers out of which 1.5 million customers are women. In the timeframe of next two years the bank is expecting to add additional 4 million credit card customers. The bank wants to hit 10 million credit cards in the next two years and expects women's portfolio to contribute significantly to this with 2 million cards.

HDFC bank is the biggest issuer of credit cards in the country, and in every quarter it plans to come out with new credit card products including co-branded card.  With Solitaire, Infinia and a pack of travel cards, HDFC Bank launched in the last 6 months has now an unparalleled premium bouquet of plastics in India.
