Power Grid Corporation gains after RBI increases its FII limit to 30%

Power Grid Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 95.25, up by 0.15 points or 0.16 % from its previous closing of Rs. 95.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 95.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 96.00 and Rs. 94.85 respectively. So far 72201 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 116.70 on 17-May-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 86.70 on 02-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 97.00 and Rs. 95.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 49961.68 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.90% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.24% and 13.86% respectively.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased foreign institutional investors' (FIIs) investment limit in Power Grid Corporation to 30% of its paid-up capital. RBI has notified that FIIs, through primary market and stock exchanges, can now purchase up to 30% of the paid up capital of Power Grid under the Portfolio Investment Scheme.  The company has passed resolutions at the board of directors' level and a special resolution by the shareholders, agreeing to enhance the limit for the purchase of its equity shares and convertible debentures by FIIs.

Power Grid is engaged in bulk power transmission and its responsibility include planning, coordination, supervision and control over inter-State transmission system and operation of National and Regional Power Grids.
