Tata Power Delhi Distribution wins national award for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector

Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDD) has been awarded the prestigious National Award for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector under the ‘performance of distribution companies’ category for outstanding performance in the area of power distribution during 2011-12. The award, a bronze shield, was presented by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power, Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia and P K Sinha, power secretary, Government of India, during the National Awards for Meritorious Performance in Power Sector ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution was selected by the Central Electricity Authority for the award based on evaluation of performance indices, such as AT&C losses, financial turnaround, metering and reliability in its distribution network. Tata Power Delhi Distribution has earlier also been awarded the National Award for Meritorious Performance for 2004-05, 2005-06 and 2008-09 by the Union Power Ministry.
