3.80 (1.09%) Tata Motors has received an order from Surat-based Siddhivinayak Logistics (SVLL) worth an estimated Rs 150 crore to supply 1,111 medium and heavy trucks in a year.
The company has claimed that the order bagged from the Surat-based firm was one of the largest orders it received from a single fleet owner for supply of M&HCV trucks. It will commence the delivery of the trucks in this month and plan to complete the order by the end of FY 12.
SVLL, the largest fleet owner in the country owning a fleet of over 2,000 commercial vehicles, operates across diverse segments like steel, cement, tractors, chemicals, machinery and is a pioneer in new segments like commercial vehicle chassis carriers. The company now plans to start transporting farm fresh fruits and vegetables through refrigerated containers on the Tata Prima carriers.
Recently, Tata Motors and Japan-based New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) inaugurated an environment-friendly dual-fuel based power generation facility at Tata Motors' Pune plant. The aim of the project is to produce power through clean environment technology.
