NTPC is planning to invest Rs 9,200 crore for establishing 1,320-MW Kajra thermal project in Lakhisarai district of Bihar. In this regard, the company has inked Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Bihar State Power Generation Company (BSPGCL) and Lakhisarai Bijlee Company (LBCPL).

The plant would have two units of 660 MW each. Moreover, the plant is proposed to be implemented through a joint venture. In the joint venture, NTPC would have 74% stake and the rest would be with BSPGCL.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
