Mahindra Two Wheelers plans to launch a 160cc motorcycle to challenge Pulsar & Apache

Mahindra Two Wheelers (MTWL), a part of the $16.7 billion Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), is planning to launch a 160cc motorcycle that will challenge the Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSI and the TVS Apache RTR160. This new bike is expected to be launched by the end of 2014 or early 2015. The company will position its 160cc motorcycle in the Indian market as a premium commuter, which will be loaded with features and priced as the entry level bikes of the 150cc segment.

The company is also planning to launch 2 more two wheelers before the launch of the 160cc premium commuter bike. These two vehicles will be in the form of a 110cc automatic scooter and a Mahindra Mojo 300 sportsbike, both of which will compete with Honda Activa and Honda CBR250 and KTM Duke 200/390 respectively.
