NTPC’s joint venture (JV) with TANGEDCO - NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company’s Unit III of 500 MW of Vallur Thermal Power Project has been commissioned on February 28, 2014.

With this, the total installed capacity of Vallur Thermal Power Project has become 1,500 MW and the total installed capacity of NTPC group has become 42,964 MW.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
