NTPC has started commercial operations at its 10 MW Solar PV Power Station at Talcher with effect from March 28, 2014. The total capacity of non-conventional energy projects of the company has become 30 MW.

With the commissioning and commercial declaration of above unit, the total commissioned and commercial capacity of NTPC group has become 42974 MW and 41314 MW respectively.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
