TCS rises on setting up large software development campus in Nagpur

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is currently trading at Rs. 1147.50, up by 4.00 points or 0.35% from its previous closing of Rs. 1143.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1143.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1156.15 and Rs. 1135.35 respectively. So far 14,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1247.00 on 06-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 902.90 on 22-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1196.70 and Rs. 1132.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2,24,591.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.08% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.91% and 5.01% respectively.

Tata Consultancy Services, a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm, will expand its operations in the state of Maharashtra by building a new software development campus in Nagpur with an investment of Rs 600 crore in the first phase. The TCS Nagpur campus will be located on a 54-acre property in the Mihan SEZ on the city's outskirts.

Once the two phases are completed, the state-of-the-art TCS Campus will house 16,000 associates in the facility built with a strong environment-friendly design. Apart from world-class offices, the TCS Campus will have customer collaboration centers, cafeterias, gymnasiums and outdoor sports facilities to offer a holistic environment to knowledge professionals.

The chief minister of Maharashtra was present to preside over this occasion and laid the foundation stone for Phase 1 at a ceremony held at the site of the campus.
