Modi takes on Congress in Maharashtra over farmer suicides

BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took his Lok Sabha campaign to Maharashtra today where he attacked the Congress over a number of issues including the increasing cases of farmer suicides in the state.

Modi said that farmers are committing suicide but Congress is not bothered. They need to increase productivity among farmers. Modi attacked the Congress-led state government in Maharashtra over the surging crime against women. Recently, a Youth Congress member was found murdered after she was reported missing; two of her party colleagues were arrested in this connection. Modi recalled the incident and unleashed an attack on the UPA and its Chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Modi also accused the Centre of not using the Nirbhaya Fund for curbing crime against women in the country.
