Gujarat Alkalies rises on commissioning sodium chlorate plant

Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals is currently trading at Rs. 192.50, up by 4.70 points or 2.50% from its previous closing of Rs. 187.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 190.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 194.70 and Rs. 190.00 respectively. So far 3674 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 200.00 on 05-Jul-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 135.20 on 28-Oct-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 195.60 and Rs. 171.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1409.99 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 45.35% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.98% and 47.67% respectively.

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals has successfully commissioned Sodium Chlorate Plant with a capacity of 20,000 TPA at its Dahej Complex and the commercial production has been achieved on March 29, 2014. The estimated annual revenue of the products to be manufactured in this Plant at full capacity would be approximately Rs 100 crore considering the prevailing market price.

Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals is engaged in business of manufacturing basic chemicals such as sodium cyanide, sodium ferrocyanide, chloromethanes, hydrochloric acid, caustic potash, potassium carbonate, phosphoric acid (85%) and hydrogen peroxide.
