STCI skyrockets on acquiring 5.34% stake in Tulip Telecom

Securities Trading Corporation of India is currently trading at Rs. 137.70, up by 6.60 points or 5.03% from its previous closing of Rs. 131.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 133.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 140.40 and Rs. 132.10 respectively. So far 163236 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 347.80 on 30-Dec-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 110.95 on 20-Dec-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 140.40 and Rs. 110.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 786.60 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 91.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 1.25% and 7.73% respectively. 

Securities Trading Corporation of India (STCI) has acquired a minority stake in Tulip Telecom by purchasing 77.50 lakh shares accounting for over 5.34 percent stake in the company.

STCI was set up as a subsidiary of Reserve Bank of India in May 1994, with the objective of fostering an active secondary market in the Government of India Securities and Public Sector bonds.

Tulip Telecom is a data telecom service and IT solutions provider. The company offers an innovative IP based infrastructural solutions to its customers.
