Physical rubber prices ruled almost flat on Wednesday due to lack of fresh enquiries from the tyre sector, but lower arrivals in the local trading houses capped some losses in rubber prices to some extent.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety declined to Rs 149/ kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 151/ kg; while the RSS-5 variety remained unchanged at Rs 146/ kg.
In the futures market, contract of June delivery improved to Rs 151.22 compared to its previous close of Rs 149.07, while July delivery closed at Rs 150.60 compared to its previous closing of Rs 148.97 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).
