State-owned Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (MTNL) has received a refund order amounting to Rs 177.76 crore from the Income Tax Department pertaining to Assessment Year 2010-11.
Recently, MTNL had entered into a partnership with DigiVive, a mobile-value-added services provider to offer its customer broad range of services like mobile television and voice-interactive- response (IVR). The company would be offering ‘nexGTv’ a mobile TV service of live TV channels along with an exhaustive list of Video-On-Demand (VOD) content on mobile. This service is available for both 2G as well as 3G users with compatible handsets.
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam was set up by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, and introduce new services and to raise revenue for telecom development needs of India's key metros -- Delhi and Mumbai.
