Union Minister of Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman, has said that rising Current Account Deficit (CAD) and galloping prices were the issues which will be required to be tackled by the government on priority basis. She further, stated that Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley will announce important measures to curb CAD and rising prices. The Current Account Deficit (CAD) has narrowed to 1.7% of the GDP in 2013-14, compared with 4.7% in the previous fiscal.
Besides, she pressed on the need for the nation adopting a comprehensive strategy and searching new markets for exports. She suggested that the country should study new markets commodity-wise and also area-wise.
The Union Minister for the state of Andhra Pradesh, said that investment in agro-based industries have to be encouraged to improve the living conditions of the farming community and also added that economic growth of Andhra Pradesh would be linked with the construction of new ports and the development of the IT sector.
