Government to fix MSP for 10 minor forest produce

In order to protect tribals from exploitation, the central government would announce minimum support prices (MSP) for 10 minor forest produce, union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram stated. These 10 items include Sal seed, Mahua flower and Tamarind.

The centre would direct all the concerned to purchase these items from tribals at the minimum support prices fixed by the government.

The minister notified that the priority of his ministry was to create and improve education, health care, communication, electrification, irrigation and other infrastructure in tribal dominated areas.
