RIL’s telecom arm plans to set up 14 data centres across India: Report

Reliance Industries’ (RIL) telecom arm - Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) is reportedly planning to set up 14 data centres across India to create a cloud-computing infrastructure that can help to complement its long-delayed roll-out of fourth generation (4G) telecom services. The data centres planned by Reliance Jio will cover a total space of 700,000 square feet, or 50,000 square feet each, almost three-fourths the size of a standard football ground.

Reliance Industries, is a Fortune Global 500 company and is the largest private sector company in India. Its activities span exploration and production of oil and gas, petroleum refining and marketing, petrochemicals (polyester, fibre intermediates, plastics and chemicals), textiles, retail, infotel and special economic zones.
