Emami enters into agreement with Royal Hygiene Care

Emami has entered into an agreement with Royal Hygiene Care, Mumbai for acquisition of its Brand ‘She Comfort’ a quality brand of sanitary napkin products. The acquisition of ‘She Comfort’ brand is a part of the company’s inorganic growth strategy and is being funded through internal accruals. The said brand is a fringe player in the Rs 2,100-crore sanitary napkin market dominated mostly by the multinationals and growing at about 20% a year. This acquisition is Emami’s first major purchase since it took over Mumbai-based Zandu Pharmaceutical Works in 2008 after a prolonged takeover battle.

Emami manufactures products under various categories namely Hair Care, Skin Creams and Lotions, Talcum Powder and ayurvedic health care products. Emami's Boroplus portfolio is worth Rs 400 crore, comprising of three brands -- BoroPlus Antiseptic Cream, Boroplus Advanced Moisturizing Lotion and BoroPlus Prickly Heat Powder.
