Shoppers Stop, which is planning to go slow on retail expansion, will be adding 8 stores in FY15 and 6-8 stores in FY16. However, the company expects consumer sentiment to revive in second half of FY15.
The company’s wholly owned subsidiary - Crossword Bookstores, in June, has opened one Crossword franchisee store at Vadodara. However, the company reported that it closed three Crossword franchisee stores at Udaipur, DCN Mall - Kolkata and Durgapur.
Shoppers Stop is engaged in the retailing business. It runs a chain of departmental stores with brands including Shopper's Stop, Home Stop, Crossword, Cafes and Restaurants etc.
