Cipla gains as arm bags 345 million rand South African contract

Cipla is currently trading at Rs. 439.20, up by 1.25 points or 0.29% from its previous closing of Rs. 437.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 438.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 441.40 and Rs. 438.80 respectively. So far 14,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 450.00 on 16-Sep-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 366.70 on 24-Feb-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 445.00 and Rs. 421.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 35,264.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 36.80% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 34.75% and 27.35% respectively.

Cipla’s - South African subsidiary - Cipla Medpro has been awarded a contract worth 345 million rand amounting Rs 195 crore from the South African government’s national respiratory tender.

Under the contract, which will run from July 2014 to April 2017, the company will supply drugs including Beclate 100, Becalate 200 and Asthavent 200. This is the second-largest government tender awarded to Cipla in the last three years.
