Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticised the opposition Congress Party for levelling baseless allegations with regard to the so-called Vyapam Scam, and accused the latter of killing democracy and traditions by not letting him answer questions raised by party MLAs. Chouhan also added that he wanted to answer all the questions but they were not ready to listen and that they were allowed to demand and question him after he answered.

The Madhya Pradesh Recruitment Scam or Vyapam Scam pertains to manipulation in the selection process for government jobs conducted by the MP Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) and the STF had on December 18, lodged two FIRs against former State Technical Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma and 129 others in connection with alleged irregularities in the examination for the recruitment of Grade II and III Contractual Teachers conducted by MPPEB.

Meanwhile, a defamation case has been filed by lawyer Anand Tiwari representing the Madhya Pradesh government against Congress leader K. K Mishra for his alleged comments in a press conference on June 21 targeting CM Chouhan and his family.
