Eyeing a sales turnover of 850 crores each during the 2011-12 fiscal, top brands Van Heusen and Louis Philippe from the stable of Madura Fashion & Lifestyle, a division of the Aditya Birla Nuvo, is to focus on tier II and III cities to expand business. Van Heusen would be focusing on smaller towns and cities, including Patiala, Jalandhar, Srinagar, Jammu, Mangalore, Mysore, Thiruchirapalli, Kannur and Thiruvalla.
Both the leading brands closed with sales figures of 650 crores each during 2010-11 fiscal. The firm had recently opened their Thrissur store which registered sales of Rs. 18 lakh last month. Van Heusen at present has 125 exclusive stores, 70 planet fashion stores and 1,000 multi-brand stores across the country, while Louis Philippe has over 100 stores. Van Heusen was planning to touch 160 stores by next March and 200 stores by March 2013.
