RCom to invest Rs 4,100 crore to build 4G WiFi services across Telangana

In a bid to build 4G WiFi services across Telangana, Reliance Communications (RCom) is planning to invest Rs 4,100 crore. The company is planning to launch the services in Hyderabad, six other municipal corporations and 37 municipalities across the state in the first phase and expects to cover the rest of the region in two more phases. Moreover, the company is planning to provide free WiFi services in the city for the first six months after rolling out the services.

Further, RCom is laying a 1,700-km stretch optic fibre cable in Hyderabad alone and of this 500 km work has already been completed.

The company, with a customer base of about 150 million, including over 2.5 million individual overseas retail customers, ranks among the Top 4 Telecom companies in the world by number of customers in a single country.
