Infosys to build facility in Mahindra World City at Jaipur

Infosys, India's second-biggest software services exporter, has received approval from the Rajasthan Government for the construction of its facility in Mahindra World City - the 3000-acre multiproduct SEZ in Jaipur. The IT Company is coming up with a 6 lakh square feet development facility in the SEZ and the construction is expected to start soon.

The facility will offer great opportunity to the local IT talent and will have a sitting capacity of 4000 seats. Infosys has taken 200 acres in SEZ for two significant investments - Infosys BPO and Infosys Technology. The company intends to invest around Rs 150 crore in its BPO operation and around Rs 250 crore in its development facility. The company plans to hire about 10,000 IT professionals in its development facility at its peak while, Infosys BPO plans to accommodate up to 5,000 employees.

Infosys has a global footprint with 64 offices and 63 development centres. Apart from Infosys Technology, IT companies like Wipro, Tech Mahindra, Connexxions IT Services, Deutsche Bank, EXL BPO, Truworth Infotech and Nucleus Software among others have also set up their facilities in the IT/ITes zone of Mahindra World City which is a joint venture between Mahindra Group and Rajasthan State Industrial Development & Investment Corporation.

Recently, Infosys had acquired the software solutions business of Gen-i as part of a partnership with the technology arm of Telecom Corp. of New Zealand to offer outsourcing services to their Australian clients.
