UltraTech Cement’s production for the month of December 2011 has surged 10.80% at 35.70 lakh million tonnes (mt) and dispatches soared 10.60% at 36.20 lakh million tonnes over December 2010.
For the April-December period, its cement production rose 1.79% at 284.80 lakh million tonnes as against 279.9 lakh million tonnes in the year-ago period. Dispatches during the period decreased marginally 1.97% at 285.10 lakh million tonnes in April-December 2011 as against 279.60 lakh million tonnes during the same period last year.
UltraTech manufactures and markets Ordinary Portland Cement, Portland Blast Furnace Slag Cement and Portland Pozzalana Cement. The company has 11 integrated plants, one white cement plant, one clinkerisation plant in UAE, 15 grinding units - 11 in India, 2 in UAE, one in Bahrain and Bangladesh each and five terminals, four in India and one in Sri Lanka.
