Grasim Industries rises despite reporting 20% fall in Q1 consolidated net profit

Grasim Industries is currently trading at Rs. 3222.00, up by 3.65 points or 0.11% from its previous closing of Rs. 3218.35 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 3200.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 3233.15 and Rs. 3173.25 respectively. So far 6186 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3755.00 on 09-Jun-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2121.00 on 04-Sep-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 3333.00 and Rs. 3177.75 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29589.02 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 25.51% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 38.78% and 21.23% respectively.

Grasim Industries’ net profit has declined by 53.20% at Rs 105.84 crore as compared to Rs 226.13 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013. However, the company’s total income has increased by 20.02% to Rs 1493.92 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 1244.70 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

On the consolidated basis, the Group has reported 20.14% fall in its net profit after taxes & Minority interest at Rs 487.13 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 610.01 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, its consolidated total income has increased by 15.93% at Rs 8314.07 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 7171.45 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013.
