In view of restriction on movement of potato from neighbouring West Bengal, the government of Odisha has decided to provide potato to people through Public distribution system (PDS) outlets for Rs 20 per kg.
The Odisha government has about 30,000 quintal of potato at different cold storages in the state and it will supply it through 55 PDS outlets.
However, there is no restriction on the movement of trucks carrying other vegetables from West Bengal. The neighbouring state is yet to lift the restriction on the potato truck movement.
