The sharp rise in production and dispatches posted by the Holcim group companies — Ambuja Cement and ACC — have signalled the revival of strong demand post-monsoon. ACC dispatches rose 19 per cent to 1.92 million tonnes (mt) in October while production jumped 16 per cent to 1.98 mt. Sales and output are much higher even when compared month-on-month.
Similarly, Ambuja Cement sales improved 20 per cent to 1.75 million tonnes despite the transport strike at the company's Himachal Pradesh unit. Production rose 17 per cent to 1.75 mt in October.
