Power and automation technology major ABB has won two orders to construct substations in India: $32 million order from Power Grid Corporation of India and a $40-million one from PMC Project (I) Pvt Ltd. The PowerGrid project is to construct two transmission substations in Gwalior and Indore. The order was booked in the third quarter. The project scope includes the design, engineering, supply and commissioning of the 765 kV and 400 kV air-insulated switchgear substations. The PMC project is to supply three new substations for Maharashtra Eastern Grid Power Transmission Co Ltd. The new 765 kV and 400 kV substations near Akola and Tiroda in Western Maharashtra will transmit power from transmission hubs to major centres.
