In order to meet the fertilizer needs of farmers in the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh state, the state government would soon establish four bio-fertilizer units. These units will be distributed in Rayalseema, North, South and Central regions of coastal Andhra. Currently, there is one unit at Amaravathi in Guntur district, which would also be strengthened.
For Rayalaseema, the unit with a capacity of 300 tones will be located at Anantapur. For the South Coastal and North Coastal area the concerned Agriculture University will come up with the proposal of sites for the bio-fertilizer plants.
Further, the units would be made operational within three months and the funds would be raised from the Central Market Fund, Rajiv Krishi Yojana (RKVY) etc.
