Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the mega food park located at Tumkur in state of Karnataka. This park has been developed with the support of the Ministry of Food, state and central governments. This is the first of its kind food park in the country belonging to Future Group which has invested about Rs 250 crore in the project. 50 units have been established till date for food processing.
Addressing the farmer issue, Prime Minister stated that farmers needed to be given facilities for their better growth. The Prime Minister added that currently he is in talks with companies manufacturing aerated drinks and has requested them to add 5% of fruit juice to their count. If this is been implemented then income of fruit farmers shall increase which in turn will help in their overall development.
Further, the Prime Minister also proposed the idea of selling Indian packed food in markets across the world.
