In a bid to harness green energy potential, Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) is reportedly planning to set up a 50 Mega Watt (MW) wind power project. The total cost of the project is expected to be Rs 300 crore and the net generation from the project is likely to be 104.10 million units (MUs). The project is expected to be commissioned by mid-2015.
GMDC is engaged in business of mining and mineral processing. The company manufactures two grades of fluorspar namely acid and metallurgical. It owns two bauxite reserve located at Kutch and Jamnagar.
