Physical rubber prices firmed up on Wednesday supported by some buying activities at the lower levels. Though, it was only the covering purchase that supported the prices to move higher but the upmove got restricted lacking any specific factors.
Spot prices for RSS-4 variety closed at Rs190/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs188.50/kg; while the RSS-5 variety closed at Rs 182/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 181/kg.
In futures market, the contract of RSS-4 for January delivery closed at Rs 190.80 compared to its previous closing of Rs 191.77, while the contract for February delivery closed at Rs 194.21 compared to its previous closing of Rs 195.21 on the National Multi Commodity Exchange.
