Alpa Laboratories has transferred its oral solid dosage formulations manufacturing Unit-II situated at sector III, Pithampur, Dhar in state of Madhya Pradesh, to Ipca Laboratories. This transfer has taken place pursuant to both the BTA & the NCA been executed on October 01, 2014. The sale of the facility will enable the company in focusing on the growth of its well established business of Unit-I.
Earlier, the company subsequent to the shareholders approval dated April 04, 2014, has sold its Unit-II as a going concern on a slump sale basis to Ipca Laboratories. The company has received a consideration of Rs 64 crore towards the Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) as a going concern on a slump sale basis and a fee of Rs 10 lakh excluding taxes towards the Non Compete Agreement (NCA) from the Ipca.
Alpa Laboratories manufactures a spectrum of products such as ethical drugs, generic drugs, over the counter drugs (OTC) and veterinary products. These products are manufactured in various dosage forms such as injectables (vials/ampoules both liquid and dry), tablets, capsules, eye/ear drops, ointment and creams.
