Jubilant Foodworks to expand in India, Bangladesh

08 Jul 2010 Evaluate

Jubilant Foodworks, which runs the Dominos Pizza chain in India, plans to open 70 stores in India in FY11 and enter Bangladesh with its first store next year. It opened 60-65 stores last year. Jubilant, which is already present in 69 Indian cities with 306 stores, has lined up a capital expenditure of atleast Rs 60 crore in FY11.

It plans to enter 20-25 new cities in some years and will launch non-pizza and new varieties of pizza products this fiscal to diversify its product offering. The firm is considering a review of its pricing policy in November as an effect of high food price inflation in India after raising prices by 2 per cent in April.

Jubilant also said it expects to see a rise of at least 15-16 per cent in same store sales in FY11 compared to a rise of 22 per cent in the last fiscal, attributing the year-ago growth to a low base effect.

The firm, which is also the master franchisee for the Dominos brand in Nepal and Sri Lanka, hopes to expand to Bangladesh soon. In the next 12 months it plans to open its first store in Bangladesh.crackcrack
