Tata Steel reports 5% rise in hot metal production in Q2

Tata Steel has registered hot metal production of 2.58 million tonnes in Q2, up by 5% y-o-y and 5.11 million tonnes in H1, up by 4% y-o-y. Moreover, crude steel production was 2.27 million tonnes in Q2 and 4.60 million tonnes in H1, up by 2% y-o-y.

Meanwhile, saleable steel production increased by 0.3% y-o-y in Q2 to 2.2 million tonnes and by 3% y-o-y in H1 to 4.46 million tonnes. Deliveries were 2.11 million tonnes in Q2, up by 4% y-o-y and 4.21 million tonnes in H1, up by 4% y-o-y.

Pellet plant has achieved best ever Q2 production of 1.40 million tonnes and best ever H1 production of 2.81 million tonnes. Merchant mill achieved its best ever H1 production at 0.213 million tonnes.

Further, new bar mill achieved its best ever Q2 production of 0.232 million tonnes, and best ever H1 production at 0.459 million tonnes. CRM saleable is best ever H1 at 0.918 million tonnes. Best-ever H1 Automotive sales of 0.67 million tonnes.
