HCL Technologies skyrockets on reporting 72.73% surge in net profits in Q2

HCL Technologies is currently trading at Rs. 429.05, up by 23.00 points or 5.66% from its previous closing of Rs. 406.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 420.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 432.25 and Rs. 415.00 respectively. So far 311547 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 528.40 on 21-Apr-2011 and a 52 week low of Rs. 360.10 on 26-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 432.25 and Rs. 396.20 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 29633.99 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 64.27% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.22% and 8.51% respectively.

The company has posted a net profit of Rs 493.97 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, up by 72.73% as compared to Rs 285.97 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2010. Total income of the company increased by 31.34% to Rs 2216.53 crore from Rs 1687.59 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.

On Consolidated basis as per US GAAP, the Group posted a net income of $111.60 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2011, up by 25.68% as compared to $88.80 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2010. Revenues increased by 18.26% to $1021.90 million from $864.10 million in the same quarter last year.

The company has announced dividend of Rs 2 per share, its 36th consecutive quarter of dividend payout.
