Punjab procures nearly 97 LT of paddy this year

The Food and Supplies Department officials stated that nearly 97 lakh tonnes (LT) of paddy has been procured this year in state of Punjab. The procurement of paddy in the state commenced at 1,806 centres with effect from October 0 1.

The district of Ludhiana led in paddy procurement with over 11.51 LT followed by Sangrur and Moga district with procurement of 10.95 LT and 9.6 LT of paddy respectively.

Out of the total paddy procured, the government agencies have obtained over 95.15 LT. This is 98.2 percent of the total paddy arrivals.
