BPCL declines on reporting 50% fall in Q2 net profit

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) is currently trading at Rs. 737.50, down by 25.80 points or -3.38 % from its previous closing of Rs. 763.30 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 751.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 754.00 and Rs. 736.00 respectively. So far 70665 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 777.15 on 10-Nov-2014 and a 52 week low of Rs. 315.00 on 08-Jan-2014.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 777.15 and Rs. 736.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 53591.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.93% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.35% and 16.72% respectively.

Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) has registered 50.14% fall in its net profit at Rs 464.2 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 931.13 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the company has increased 0.06% at Rs 62280.28 crore for Q2FY15 as compared Rs 62241.32 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

BPCL is into exploration, production and retailing of petroleum and petrol related products. The retail business unit of BPCL is into marketing of petrol, diesel and kerosene.
